News from the RBYC Cadets
We had a wonderful day training on the river on Saturday 29th April, hastily reconvened due to the forecast of gusty gales. Thanks to the team for beautifully calm and measured coaching - exceptional stuff and a Lizzie Brown PowerPoint to boot! Here's a little video or our exploits!
This Saturday 13th May we are holding a Rib Refresher from 10am to 1pm, aimed at all those who wish to help with the Cadets - whatever level of experience. This is a refresher for those with experience; and an opportunity for those who wish to become involved. It is not just for rib drivers, but also for rib crews.
To give us an idea of numbers, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
We are then back on the river this Sunday (14th) for the first of the Clare Series, kindly sponsored by Allen Bros. We'd be so grateful if anyone intending to sail could enter online via rbyc.org.uk and we'd be just as grateful for all adult assistance on the day!
And (drum roll) it's the first pond of 2017 on Sunday 28th May - again, please don't forget to book in as it helps us to ensure we have enough cover to run the event successfully (email@example.com)
Another Cadet date to flag a date in your diaries is our first Camp Out at the Pond, overnight on Saturday 22 July into sailing on Sunday 23 July. We’d love ALL our Cadets, both senior and junior, and their friends to come along and would love to get an idea of numbers, so please do register your interest by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org - It costs £10 per night for up to 5 people in a tent/caravan/motor home to stay at Boro Water with dogs charged £1 per night.
News from the Sea School. The RYA Sea School First Aid Course which is being run over two Tuesday evenings on Tuesday 16th and Tuesday 23rd May from 6pm to 9:30pm currently has space available as does the RYA Powerboat 2 course on 17th-18th June and the VHF SRC Radio course on Sunday 4th June 2017. It's never too late to learn a new skill or refresh what you know already and bookings through bookwhen.com/rbyc
And lastly, a polite notice that trailers must be removed from the car park within the next week. They are causing a real problem to parking, and there is not space for them to be stored through the sailing season. Thank you in advance for your help.
See you all very soon!
