Eggciting Easter weekend
After a crack team of gardeners and handymen (the Cadet Parents) had tidied up the Dinghy Park on Saturday we were ready to take to the water on Easter Sunday! The RB Cadets headed out en masse for the first time in 2017 in choppy and sometimes blustery conditions. Our Oppie fleet largely stayed upright although a few Cadets were keen to test the water (it was cold). It was quite a baptism for some of the kids just off the pond, but everyone was still smiling back on dry land and keen on planning the Camp Out in July! Senior Cadets took their dinghies a little further afield and showed the rest of us how it's done... and it was lovely to see them helping out their younger counterparts in the Dinghy Park when derigging later. A hugely successful Easter Egg hunt (chocolate courtesy of Martin and Susie) ensued, before we all had a lovely lunch and some of our Cadets helped give out the prizes for the Williwaw Trophy.
We're back on the water with River Training on Sunday 30th April - please do let us know if you plan on going out so we can make sure we have enough helpers on hand. Til then, happy sailing!
